Be Kind, Rewind...and Grab a Drink: VHS-Themed Bar Coming to Columbus
The emotional support post we needed after 16-Bit downtown closed. This new place called VHS Social Club is opening in the Brewery District, and it's basically a nostalgic dive bar dream.
The guy behind Basil Thai and Buddha Bowl is opening it, and he's basically turning the upstairs of the old Brick restaurant into a shrine of VHS tapes, vintage movie posters, and actual Nintendo and Super Nintendo consoles you can play while you sip your drink.
They're even doing regular VHS movie nights and serving up themed food like a Breakfast Club sandwich and an ET-inspired fried chicken. Just hook it to my veins. It's supposed to open later this year and I will absolutely be there in my scrunchie and windbreaker.
"Do you like Pina Coladas? Escape to an 80s oasis at VHS Social Club! Amazing happy hour specials, nostalgic food options, watch your favorite old school VHS tapes and DANCE the night away. Girls just wanna have fun and so does everyone else! Play FREE video games, darts and shuffleboard. Not enough? Trivia, Karaoke and board games round out your full night of activities. Theme dress up nights with contests include PROM night, Headbangers Ball, NEON night and Pop your collar night. See you in the Brewery District!"
